DESCRIPTION
Villa Emma is a classic example of a country residence of the tuscan nobility of the 18th century. The villa was created for the florentine aristocratic family called Ristori in the first half of the 1700s who wanted a summer retreat to recover their spirits in the peace and quiet of the countryside. It stands on a hill dominating the enchanting medieval village of Lucignano, and lies on its own, surrounded by the vegetation of the old grounds of 3 hectacres. It has recently undergone a careful renovation, which has wisely maintained the internal layout, which offers spaces full of light, with frescoes on the ceilings and large windows. It lies on 3 floors and can accommodate up to 18 people in 9 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (one of which is accessible for the disabled). On the third floor are three suites (a King suite with sitting-room and reading-room, a Queen Suite with jacuzzi and a Junior Suite with modern furnishings), with a marvellous view of the swimming-pool and of the village of Lucignano. It has pleasant, comfortable furnishings: each floor has a large living-room, and the main kitchen is on the ground floor and has a large fireplace along with the latest modern appliances. In the grounds is a nice swimming-pool (15mx8m) with a gazebo furnished for dining outside and there are several other areas for relaxing outside. The villa lies just 10 minutes by car from the A1 motorway exit and is therefore in a good position for sightseeing trips to virtually anywhere in Italy. In particular all of the best-known places in Tuscany and Umbria can be reached in less than an hour (Florence, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Siena, Cortona, Montalcino, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno). Rome by car takes just 2 hours. Due to the spacious areas available both outside and inside the villa is also suitable for weddings, anniversaries or other kinds of festivities.
