DESCRIPTION
The Val d'Orcia stretches to the south of Siena in a landscape at once harmonious and poetic that strikes the imagination: this is a landscape full of light, characterised by gentle hills rolling as far as the eye can reach and crisp clear colours, distinctly different and enthralling in every season of the year. It is a highly evocative territory, which, precisely on account of the essential perfection of its landscape has been included in the Unesco list of World Heritage Sites: scenery that was celebrated by the artists of the Sienese school, the reproductions of which have become symbols of the Renaissance and have profoundly influenced the mode of conceiving the landscape. In the heart of this natural and cultural Artistic Park, just a short distance from spots of elevated historic and artistic interest (San Quirico d'Orcia is just 1.8 km away, Pienza 3.5 km, with Montalcino and Montepulciano also within easy reach) and famous spas (Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo, Chianciano and San Casciano dei Bagni), Villa Campriano is set upon a hilltop, commanding a magnificent 360-degree view over the surrounding valleys and hills, with their undulating contours cloaked in woods, farmhouses heralded by rows of cypress trees, churches and ancient hamlets.
