DESCRIPTION
Torre di San Pancrazio, with its unique circular form, stands on the promontory of Ansedonia, near Orbetello, south of the Gulf of Argentario, in a location sheer above the sea within a private complex. Ansedonia is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the Maremma area of Tuscany, well-known for its beauty, and in fact it has preserved through the centuries all of its natural beauty and is surrounded by a crystal-clear sea. This place is also famous for the presence of the ancient town of Cosa, a roman town built in 273 B.C, and another interesting trip is to the Tagliata Etrusca, an ingenious work of hydraulics by the etruscans, a canal which stops the sand from the coast from entering the fresh waters of the nearby lake at Burano. The villa lies on the rocks by the sea, and from the terrace you go down just 30 steps to enter the crystal-clear water. The view is spectacular and stretches from the island of Giannutri to the coast of Argentario, and the sea breeze outside attenuates the summer heat, while the thick walls of the villa maintain an ideal temperature inside. In the village of Ansedonia you will find food shops and excellent restaurants, and Orbetello, which is about 11 kms away, stands on a peninsula surrounded by the Levante and Ponente lagoons, united with the promontory of Argentario by an artificial dam.
