DESCRIPTION
Villa le Terrazze lies in the seaside town of Aspra, about 5 kms from Bagheria, a town which between 1600 and 1700 was a favourite spot for the nobility of Palermo and is now well-known throughout the world for its many baroque villas, such as: Villa Valguarnera, Villa Palagonia - the best known for its monsters and visionary figures carved in sandstone - and Villa Cattolica, which hosts the modern art gallery donated by Renato Guttuso. The villa stands sheer above the sea and is on three terraces: on the lower one is the large swimming-pool (20x7m) and access to the path down to the sea, consisting of just two flights of steps. The villa has been recently restored, is furnished with high-quality modern pieces and is well-equipped: there is a lift connecting the various floors; central hot and cold air-conditioning; internal parking for 4 cars; satellite-TV, DVD and stereo; broadband internet connection; dishwasher; washing-machine and barbecue. The path down to the sea is private and leads to a beautiful platform on the rocks looking onto a crystal-clear sea, however since the coast is state property outsiders are allowed access via the sea. The city of Palermo is about 15 kms away, Cefalù 60 kms, and both can be reached by autostrada. Bagheria is also well-known for its gastronomy and its local confectioner's shops, where you can sit comfortably at a table and try brioches with ice-cream and whipped cream or a fresh lemon water-ice. GROUND FLOOR: entrance, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bedroom with three beds - both bedrooms have a cupboard and a private bathroom with shower. From the entrance via 2 small flights of steps you come to a third bedroom with 2 single beds and a private bathroom with shower. Two of the bedrooms open onto a splendid, large terrace with a view of the sea. LOWER FIRST FLOOR: Up a short flight of steps you come to a corridor off which you will find a bedroom/studio with single bed, the room has a cupboard and a private bathroom with shower. The corridor leads to a very large living-room (100 sq. m.) with satellite TV, picture windows with a view of the sea and a raised dining area with an exit onto the terrace and a garden, which is also looked onto by a large kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, refridgerator and many other accessories, and a large larder. Next to the kitchen is a laundry room with washing-machine. Outside there is a wood-burning oven and barbecue area. In the garden in front of the dining-room is an area covered with climbing plants and furnished for dining outside. On this floor there is a WC with washbasin. From the living-room via 10 steps you come to a double bedroom with a cupboard and bathroom with shower. LOWER SECOND FLOOR: small living-room through which you come to the swimming-pool area, a second complete kitchen, 1 bedroom of an inferior quality with respect to the others and without windows with 3 single beds, equipped with bathroom with shower. The villa also has an external annex with two single beds, which could be used by domestic staff (lower quality and without windows), with bathroom with shower. From the terrace, which has a shower area (both cold and hot) and WC, and surrounds the large swimming-pool, there is easy access (2 flights of steps) straight to the sea. |
