DESCRIPTION
It is not easy to put in to words the natural beauty of the coast that leads down from Otranto towards Leuca, where stretches of inaccessible rocky cliffs drop down into a crystal-clear blue sea, and you find a succession of picturesque little harbours with the little fishing villages behind them at just a few kilometres one from the other. Once you have passed the harbour at Tricase, continuing on towards Leuca, in the village called Funnu Voiere, you will find this typical local building perched directly above the sea, which we have called La Vora. It is surrounded by a large fenced garden of Mediterranean scrub, that looks onto the sea from a natural terrace with a breathtaking view. The renovation of the old trullo has successfully maintained all of its original external characteristics and charm, and on the inside, while maintaining the simplicity of the furnishings, it has been made comfortable and suitable for a different kind of holiday. On one side there is a large covered veranda, which has been furnished with table and chairs for dining outside, and its aerated position means that it can be used even during the hottest part of the day. A tarred road running round the property leads down to the sea, which is only about 700 metres away, but the steepness of the road means that it is convenient to use the car. The coast is rocky, but can easily be negotiated, and you will be able to enjoy unforgettable swims in the crystal-clear water. The little village of Corsano is about 2 Km away, whereas Tricase, which has all the services you might need, is 5 Km away. Otranto can be reached in less than thirty minutes by car. The airport of Brindisi is about 100 Km away.
