DESCRIPTION
Rapallo is situated in the remotest part of the Gulf of Tigullio, a place much loved and praised by poets and writers, where charming seaside villages with safe, welcoming ports alternate with rugged cliffs and bays with crystal clear waters, protected by hills covered in dense Mediterranean scrub. Rapallo is a small town with a long tradition as a tourist destination thanks to its stunning, well equipped beaches, marina and many beauty spots. La Trusera di Mare is located in a residential area of the town, just 3 km from the center, amidst the luxuriant greenery of the promontory of Portofino which is less than 10 minutes away. At the bottom of the small lane that climbs up the hill is the Rapallo 18-hole golf course, considered to be one of the most scenic courses in Italy. The large, very comfortable apartment has a completely independent entrance and garden (there is only one other apartment in the building): it is accessed via a gate on the lane. The garden’s terraces are very well tended, filled with flowers and provided with sunbeds. They also offer delightful corners where guests can sit outside and enjoy the view of the surrounding hills. On the main floor level, in addition to a covered veranda with dining table, there is a beautiful swimming pool (3.5 x 5.5 m, that can be heated by solar panels and be used also during the months of mid-season), a barbecue and a small annex facing the swimming pool. The indoor areas have been furnished with care and are very warm, welcoming and comfortable. The owner, an excellent chef, is happy to prepare evening meals for guests featuring quality local dishes and can also provide information about the best places for bathing, the most interesting itineraries along the coast or further inland, as well as the pathways to follow in order to explore this enchanting corner of Liguria. Entrance via a gate on a small lane: a few steps lead to the first garden terrace which has sunbeds and deck chairs. A second flight of steps leads to the main level with small garden and lounge areas where guests can relax, with sunbeds, barbecue, swimming pool and a veranda with table for eating “al fresco”: entrance into kitchen (dishwasher, oven) with table and lounge/dining area with fireplace and panoramic terrace. Sleeping area: 1 bathroom with bathtub, 1 double bedroom, 1 double bedroom with access to balcony. A staircase in the lounge/dining area leads down to a living room with fireplace, satellite TV with DVD player, stereo, double sofa bed and access to the lower level of the garden, 1 bathroom with shower. Swimming pool area: small annex with 1 double bedroom with air conditioning and 1 small bathroom (WC and washbasin), hot outdoor shower by the side of the swimming pool.
