DESCRIPTION
The Pagliaio stands at the edge of the medieval village of Chianni, situated on the top of a hill surrounded by oak and chestnut woods, along the road that passes through the town and leads to the sea, about 40 km away. The surrounding landscape is very beautiful and typical of this area of Tuscany, still not very well known and not over crowded. The property consists of a typical stone-built house from the 17th century, renovated in a manner that has attempted to preserve and bring back to light its ancient details, such as its stone washbasins, wood-burning ovens, stone walls and inserts painted on the ceilings. The house has 3 apartments, each with independent entrance and a fourth apartment, situated in a second house in the back area, where a family lives. Between the two houses there is a covered veranda, with curtains and tables for outdoor dining, of exclusive use of the guests and a large shared lounge, with an area equipped as a laundry room (washing machine shared among the guests). The apartments are tastefully furnished with country pieces and a few antiques, matching curtains and fabrics, marble bathrooms and a pretty swimming pool that is shared and surrounded by a garden with barbecue and private car park. The view from the garden and from some of the windows of the apartments is unforgettable and truly splendid: green hills reaching out as far as the eye can see, all the way to Volterra. Only 7 km away is Chianni where there is the famous health spa of Casciana Terme and in less than hour by car you can reach some of the most famous towns and cities in Tuscany, such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa and Florence.
