DESCRIPTION
The Castello dei Rovi stands on a hillside in the district of San Gimignano, right on what was the old country road leading to the town, and boasts a stupendous view of the famous towers. The residence is set magnificently within the splendid Tuscan countryside, surrounded by olive groves and vines that produce oil of superb quality and the excellent white wine, Vernaccia. Not to be overlooked is the great culinary tradition of this region; wherever you go you can taste wonderful dishes of Tuscan cuisine, accompanied by truly great wines. And while we're on the subject, theme dinners are organised 3 times a week and can be booked at reception. Sport and nature enthusiasts can devote themselves to excursions on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike through the woods and vineyards, passing by castles ruins and splendid old farmhouses. Golf course 12 km away, tennis courts and stables just 4 km. Airports: Florence Peretola 50 km, Pisa Galileo Galilei 80 km. The renovation of Castello di Rovi has been carried out with respect for the various historic-architectural phases in its construction, retrieving and enhancing the structural features, and bringing to light elements and sections that date back as far as the Middle Ages. The residence is divided into apartments of various sizes to meet the different requirements of guests. All the apartments are fully provided with modern comforts: satellite TV, telephone and air-conditioning (the larger apartments also have dishwashers). They have been furnished to create a typically Tuscan atmosphere, characterised by the style and taste that has always distinguished this region. The villa is surrounded by a large park with ancient Cypress trees, embellished by numerous plants, flowers and fragrances. Also at guests’ disposal is a fully-equipped pergola and a 16x8 metre swimming pool, as well as a spacious car park inside the property. San Gimignano, symbol of the Middle Ages, is just 3 km away, while the principal cities of art and tourist attractions of Tuscany are within easy reach: Florence 40 km, Siena 30, Arezzo 90 km, Volterra 30, Pisa and Chianti just 30 km, and the Tyrrhenian sea 90 km. There is a golf course 12 km away, and tennis courts and stables at just 4 km. Fast wi-fi internet connection available free at reception. Access to the property is along an untarred road about 2 km long. The number of beds stated for each apartment includes children up to three years old.
