In addition to its famous coastline that features places like the Cinque Terre and the Gulf of Poets, located between the promontories of Lerici and Portovenere, the beauty of which enchanted poets such as Shelley, Byron, Montale and Petrarca, the inland areas in the province of La Spezia are also very interesting: a succession of villages nestling on wooded hilltops, medieval hamlets and castles mark the border between Liguria and Tuscany, offering landscapes that are typical of both regions. Casa Magiola is just 15 Km from La Spezia and the coast, and is reached by following a road that climbs up to one of those characteristic hilltop villages surrounded by woods of holm oaks and chestnuts, as well as olive-groves and cultivated terraces. The property is fenced in and has a very well-tended garden, and a patio with barbecue at the back suitable for eating “al fresco”. Next to the beautiful 12 x 4 m swimming pool is an elegant gazebo with Moroccan style furnishings and comfortable sofas. The views stretch from the plains to the sea and, on the other side, to the wooded mountains and villages. This large house is tastefully and pleasantly furnished and is very comfortable. A lot of attention has been paid to detail in order to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Both the ground floor and the upper floor have access to the garden. There is also a small well-equipped gym, TV with DVD player and a Playstation for the kids. The owner’s brother and his family live in one part of the house, with an independent entrance, arranged in such a way as to offer guests maximum privacy. Near the property is the start of a very famous nature walk, the Alta Via. There are shops and restaurants just a short distance away (2 Km) and the area’s most popular tourist destinations (Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Portofino, Lucca, Pisa) are all within easy reach.
